    Cosmo Online Hunk Andre Justin: Rebel With A Goal (Week 1)

    A lot of men like to put on a tough guy act. It’s how they deal. And if they happen to have ripped bods or dress a certain rugged away, it’s easy to write them off as bad boys, right? But, with October being the month of men and fashion, we want to show you through our featured hunk this month, Andre Justin, 27, that really, you shouldn’t be misled by appearances…or even goals, backgrounds, and all your preconceived notions about men.

    All month, this Cosmo Bachelor will show you just how endearing a (well-dressed) tough guy, a “rebel,” so to speak, can get. Andre is a rebel at heart, and the first thing he went against is his college degree. He took up pre-medicine in UCLA, then decided to join Google as a marketing analyst after college. But, again defying what a lot of people would already consider a dream job in a dream company, Andre left Google and the US to come to the Philippines to pursue a career in modeling in showbiz! Talk about taking a huge risk, but he has a specific goal: “I wanted a career change, so that’s why I’m here.” And the new career he wants is in the entertainment industry.

    He’s actually on the right track. Fresh from his Cosmo Men stint (where he uses his real name, Visenio), Andre has bagged a number of endorsements, and now the distinction of being this month’s Cosmo Online Hunk. We’re sure Andre would go far in his modeling and acting career because he’s such a pleasure to work with, he can play a role effortlessly (in this case a rebel a la James Dean), and he’s a natural at looking absolutely gorgeous. The pleasant surprise? While he may look intimidating at first, Andre is actually a jolly, playful guy who can engage you in meaningful conversation. Just read the first part of his interview below.     Are you planning to stay in the Philippines?

    I’d like to think of it as a…vacation. Something I’m trying out for right now. If things don’t work out here…I can always go back.

    What are your hobbies/special talents?

    Hobbies: I like to be outdoors. That’s one thing I love to do, anything outdoors. Wall climbing, hiking, being out under the sun, that’s pretty important to me. Special talents: I don’t know. I guess that’s for me to know and you to find out (laughs).

    What’s a normal day like for you?

    I usually get up pretty early, [I’m an] early riser. I work out. For me here, it’s always important to try to speak Tagalog. So that’s what I try to do everyday, learn the craft.

    How much have you learned so far, can you engage in conversation in Filipino?

    I think in terms of conversation, pwede. Pwede.

    What are the most important things in your life right now? Let’s say, top three things.

    Top three things. First and foremost is my family, it’s always important to have good relationships with your family members. The second thing is probably my career. I’m trying to establish a career here in the Philippines, that’s really important. And the third thing is, establishing new networks and connections with people here, getting to know the industry, that’s pretty important as well.

    What would you like girls to know about you?

    That I’m only ticklish in one part of my body. And I’m not saying where (laughs).

    What could a girl say to start a great conversation with you?     

    Probably for the best conversation, she has to make fun of me.

    How?

    Just something about me, just come up to me, kinda ambush me, make fun of me. Because I know that if she makes fun of me, I know also that she’s gonna be playful with me. That’s always important.

    Is that also how you are with girls?

    Yeah, [I’m] playful. Because for me, I can’t be with a woman who’s not playful, who is not funny, who doesn’t make me laugh. So you have to be game.

    So, is that also how you get a girl’s attention, you make fun of her?

    For example, if a girl is with a group of friends, I notice the girl that I like, I notice that she’s parang masungit. So I’ll tell her friends, “Wow is your girl friend always like this? What’s wrong with her?” I put her on the spotlight to see how she reacts.

    And that usually works?

    It depends. It works in a sense that you know whether or not you wanna converse with her in the future or if you wanna get to know her.

    Are you single?

    Depends who’s asking (laughs). Yes. Single, ready to mingle.

    Are you looking to get into a relationship?

    I wouldn’t say that I’m looking to get into a relationship, but there’s never a chance that I would turn down the opportunity to be in love. If I found someone, if someone came across my path, then we get along, have good times, then I definitely couldn’t say no to that.
